Tim McDonough on the Key to Consistently Doing Epic Things
This is a conversation about how listening to your body is the key to taking on epic adventure after epic adventure. I admire Tim as an athlete because of his innate ability to tune in and listen to his body. That is his superpower. It enables him to consistently put in high volume training weeks and crush big races, adventures, and challenges all year long... year after year.
Tim is an accomplished ultra runner and an ambassador for Arcteryx. From the past few years of following Tim's adventures and races, I have seen that he consistently accomplished many big races and long adventures year after year. This past year after he attempted to run the full 300km East Coast Trail in Newfoundland, I wanted to get him on the show to talk all about it. But what I found when I started digging into everything that Tim had been up to in 2020 it was mind-blowing. Hurt 100, the Double limitless challenge (equivalent to summiting Everest twice), and many other 100k and 100-mile efforts. Tim is an inspirational athlete.
