Robyn Manning on Having a Breakthough Season During a Pandemic
This is a conversation about understanding your “why" and making your training, races and adventures about more than just the run. Robyn is someone that I’ve wanted to meet for a while and this new Podcast project of mine gave me the perfect excuse to reach out to her and have a conversation.
Robyn Manning goes after everything she gets into 110% whether that is her training for running or running her own business. To her it’s all about priorities. This was a really fun conversation for me, it took me outside of my comfort zone as Robyn was the first person that I have had on the shown that I didn’t previously know. I had wanted to meet her for a while as I have been following her story from afar for a while and have been really inspired by what she has been able to accomplish in both running and being a business owner. She did not disappoint.
Robyn has had a huge season smashing PR’s in the half and full marathon and has also taking on multiple Ultras (having never had run one before) all in a year where the pandemic has taken all most all in person racing out of the picture. Having lost her mom two years ago she recently ran ultra in her honour and crushed her fund-raising goal in the process. As with most of her adventures and races Robyn draws so much strength from her local running community who are always out to support and run with her and on this run two of her friends ran the entire distance with her.
This is a conversation about goals. You always have to be working towards your next goal and prioritizing your life to allow you to achieve them. We also go deep on the power of your local running community, a common theme which keeps popping up her on the show.
I throughly enjoyed having this opportunity to sit down with her and learning how she is able to do it all.
