Sarah Lamos on How Running Helped Her Find A Stronger Version of Herself

Sarah Lamos is an aspiring ultrarunner training for her first 50k this summer and is also the group leader for the Saint John Trail Runners woman's only trail running group. Sarah has been blogging about her experience, and she is so open and honest with what she shares.

In particular, I appreciated her sharing about her struggles with discorded eating and how running eventually helped her through this. She was able to find a better, stronger version of herself. Which she rightly named Strong Sarah. It si clear that Sarah's sharing of her experiences comes from wanting to help others on their journey to wellness.

In this conversation, we talk more about Sarah's struggles with disordered eating and her participation in the founding of the woman's only trail running group, and why our trail running community needs groups like these to help all women feel safe and make the sport of trail running more accessible for them.

Sarah is very open, and I genuinely appreciate how open she is about sharing her journey. These conversations are so important to have and share because issues like disordered eating are far more common than we'd like to admit. It also doesn't only discriminate against women, and many men struggle with this as well.
