Why New Leaf Running Company?

We started new Leaf Endurance in 2015 as a passion project. We had been runners for years through high school and university. Then we started running more frequently and couldn’t find a local running coach to work with. Rick was looking for a coach, he had got bit by the running bug hard and went from running a half marathon to full to a 50k in about a year. The road was tough to get to the finish lines of those second two goals though. Time commitment to training plans, injuries, bonking for the afternoon after a big workout to name a few struggles. There is lots of information out there about running. There are books, podcasts, blogs, magazines, running groups and buddies to train with that will share tips and tricks. But you know what we found? Not all the tips work for everyone. And there are lots of training plans available, but just because they are out there doesn’t mean they are optimized for you and your situation and abilities.

Long enough that you need to have some good endurance but short enough that I can flirt with the red line.

Capes 100 (2019): It doesn’t have to be perfect to succeed - Part 2

Now the fun part begins as we make our was onto the “20k of sweet single track”, I’ve run here lots before and it is beautiful trail… and even though its not the toughest part of the park loop (Jodi was nice enough to leave most of the “torture chamber” out of the course) I knew what we were getting into and given we were 50k into the race I don’t think too many people would disagree with replacing the word sweet with gruelling.

How Limiting Beliefs Play a Role in Procrastination

Beliefs are the stories we have about ourselves, others, and the world. They start to be formed when we are very young and are very pervasive in our day to day without us even knowing a lot of the time. They are formed during our upbringing, from the things we see, hear and experience every day.

Beliefs are not always the truth. They are your truth, based on your experience. They might be (and often are) formed based on biased and/or incomplete information.
